About the Presentation:
Have you ever wanted to take a picture of the night sky with yiour cell phone? Were you thrilled
with the results? This image of the Orion Nebula was captured by the presenter, Mr. Andy Weeks, and you can do the same:
Come discover the basics of how to use your cellphone camera to photograph the night sky and learn tips and tricks
to make the most of what you have available. Then explore how a simple and inexpensive cellphone holder can be
attached to an eyepiece of a modest telescope to yield even more spectacular results.

Mr. Andy Weeks has been a driving force in the Fox Valley Astronomical Society for more than a decade:
as newsletter editor for ten years, website developer and master, and as President for seven years.
Andy has helped foster an ever-growing community of passionate stargazers including outreach and
educational presentations to share his experience and enthusiasm with the wider public. Andy has a
deep-rooted passion for astrophotography. Starting with film on a 10" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope,
he later transitioned to DSLR imaging, mastering both monochrome and one-shot color techniques beginning
in 2018. His backyard setup is completely automated allowing him to image on any clear work night.
His dedication to capturing the cosmos reflects a lifelong pursuit of exploring and sharing the wonders
of the night sky.
